It has been quite awhile since our last posting. All here is going well. It is hard to believe that it is July already. Were has the year gone? It has been pretty hot here. It has been in the mid 90’s with a heat index of 105-110. Work is going well, we are working some overtime but not like it was. Our work load is getting ready to pick up, so I think the overtime will pick up again. They say that they are going to hire more people to help with the work load. We will see!!! We hope that everyone has a Happy 4th of July.

It’s Finally Spring!!
Finally Spring has come!! Our weather has warmed up. Now our cold days are in the 50’s, instead of the 30’s. Toni, Mary and myself worked in the yard for most of the day Saturday. We were wore out. Toni and Mary redid the front borders and I raked pine straw in the backyard. We put the old border material in the driveway extension and the pine straw in its place. Toni also worked on cleaning out the garage. We just straightened it a little bit. I think coming weekend we will work on it again. We are caught up at work, so maybe the overtime will go away for awhile. We are now looking forward to Easter.

Let It now, Let It Snow
Well, we finally got the snow the the weathermen have been predicting. We got around 8 inches overnight. Needless to say the overtime I was suppose to work today was cancelled. This is the first major snow we have had since 2006. We only lost power for about an hour early this morning. It was a trip going to the bathroom in the pitch dark. Ginnie had a Girl Scout sleep over last night at the local church. Toni and Lee are going to get her in a little while. Of course, our roads are cleaned not off. Only the major ones are salted and kind of clear. Here are some pictures.

Happy New Year
We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!! We also hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas. We had a good Christmas. Toni and I received a WII for Christmas. We are really enjoying it. Along with the WII we got all kinds of accessories and quite a few games. This has been a horrible week for us. Toni has a doctors appointment Tuesday and had to be in the hospital until yesterday afternoon. She went in for a blood pressure check and said she also was having some pressure in the chest. Well, it snowballed from there. In short, she had to do a stress test for her heart which she passed with flying colors. They determined that she did not have a mild heart attack but it was caused by stress and a mild upper respiratory infection. Needless to say it was a rough 3 days. We went (the whole family) out to dinner last night for her birthday. A gain we hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

On leave
Had today off. I also have tomorrow off, I am burning up some leave before the end of the year or I will lose it. You can only carry over so many hours to the next year. If you don’t use it, you lose it. It was pretty nice today. We have been getting rain every few days. I have been working alot of overtime the last few weeks. I worked 10 hour days this week and last Saturday. By taking today and tomorrow off I will get out of working this Saturday. The whole family are going to Mike’s Farm this Saturday to see the Christmas light display. It is an annual outing we take every year. Our granddaughter Charlottes birthday is Monday and Lees is Tuesday. I can’t believe Christmas is only 2 weeks away. Where has the year gone? We hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Tiring day
It was tough going back to work today. 4:30 came awful early this morning. We were short handed today. We still had a lot of people on leave today. They will all be back tomorrow. It looks like our overtime will continue until around March or April. My knees and elbows are sore tonight from being on them almost all day. I had to finish the work I was doing last week. Thank goodness I got it done. Tomorrow is December, where has this year gone? The big buildup for Christmas really ramps up.
